Peak Tram

My mate took me to the Peak Tram Station.

Wow what a ride two trams connected by a steel cable about 50mm in diameter so the weight of one car is offset by the other with a passing loop half way up with spring switches so cars always pass in a set fashion with a controller who starts and stops the cable movement from a control booth at the top.
